I was cooking other items in the oven, and I thought, I’m sure these would work in the air fryer, so I went against my rule of sticking to a recipe on the first attempt. The air fryer worked so well. I promise I will try the oven bake recipe at some point.

A lovely dish. Next time I will use much thinner rashes of bacon ,as the pork ended up over cooking for our tastes, but still a great dish. My bacon came away from the pork, so next time I do this, I will use toothpicks to secure.

My photograph doesn’t do this little side dish justice. It is just lovely. I used 2 Australian bunches of asparagus plus our home grown baby bean. Really worth a try. You can prepare the vegetables earlier in the day and finish later.

This is very tasty. I didn’t bother putting on the oven to grill the chicken, instead I fried it in a wok in the sunflower oil, removed and contiinured with making the sauce. It had to be a quick dinner so waiting for the oven to warm up seemed pointless, although roasting would have given the chicken a nice charred finish. Again, I cut Down the sugar, in fact I halved the amount, ecause I could see any sour element to counteract that amount of sugar.

This takes very little time to produce. I found this recipe on the internet, but can’t remember where. I have adjusted the ingredients from American to English. The initial creaming of the butter and sugar certainly takes a lot longer than 3 minutes, I had my mixer running for 15 minutes. The ratio of butter to sugar (use caster, not granulated) means you never get that fluffy buttery mixture you normally get. I didn’t have rum so used Calvados (seemed in keeping really). With all that said, this cake is really lovely.

A very easy recipe which you can tuck away in the air fryer while you prepare the rest of the meal.

A really delicious dish. I used Rodriguez sausages and added a small pinch of chilli flakes which made all the difference. A superb quick and easy mid-week dinner.

A very pleasant dish, makes a change to the usual chilli con carne. I used Old El Paso tortillas, which I found quite sweet, try to source authentic tortillas or, better still, make your own if you have time.

I have now done this twice. Second time was a success. Don’t peel the potatoes but give them a good scrub. Retaining the skin helps to hold the potato together when you flatten them. Very tasty and easy potato dish.

This was just lovely. We like a saucy dish so used the coconut milk in the cooking process. Be sure to leave plenty of texture in the courgettes (zucchini). Not sure what the rubbing the ends achieves so didn’t bother doing that. Slicing and salting them lightly helps keep them crisp, but I only do that if putting in a salad. Great for using the glut of courgettes.

This was really delicious, easy to make and very light. I used just thigh pieces. A great use for that glut of Lebanese cucumbers. I used Life’s Good red curry paste. These have to be the best pastes available in Australia, easy to order on line. lifesgoodcurrypastes.com

Lovely but a little too sweet, would suggest cut back a bit on the sugar in the meringue and maybe just a couple of teaspoons of icing sugar in the cream

A pleasant midweek dinner. Felt the molasses made it a bit too sweet. Also,, will add a pinch of chilli next time.

We used this recipe for a barbecue. Really lovely and surprising how moist the chicken breast stayed. Not easy to source Greek Thyme Honey, used ordinary honey.

Pleasant little biscuits. Really didn’t see the point of the nigella seeds, I couldn’t discern the bitter/oniony flavour, against the pungency of the cheseses.

This is a great Peri-Peri sauce. Not too hot. I did remove the membrane from the chillies, as well as the seeds. It is said the membrane actually contains more heat than the seeds.

You may well ask, sweet chilli sauce in a pasta dish. For me it was wrong, other member of the household thought it was great. I would replace the sweet chilli sauce with a mild chilli sauce, but cut down the amount. Apart from that a really great, quick pasta dish for a mid week dinner.

We really enjoyed this. Can think of numerous dishes in which to use the Risoni; great with any fish dish.

I am obviously not a lover of Chimichurri sauces as this left me cold, so I let the other household member rate this. It got a 4*. I cut down the amount of ingredients proportionately, as I thought 240g of parsley would certainly use my whole garden supply.

I pre-cooked the onion and wilted the spinach, and allowed to cool before adding to the rest of the ingredients. I used cooked bacon. A lovely mixture and great for lunch boxes.

The flavour combination is lovely. I made quite a few changes to the recipe. 1. I found 250g of ricotta far too much, it made for a really ‘gluggy’ sauce. 2. I had to add 1 cup of chicken stock to the sauce and it was still far too thick. 3. Roast all the pumpkin, and add the whole pieces after the sauce has cooked for a while Don’t think this will be repeated.

Very tasty. Make sure you use really beautifully fresh fish. I used Red Emperor. Went well with Braised Potatoes with Peas

This is a lovely cake with a hit of spices, however, won’t be our main Christmas cake. Back to the Florentine Christmas Cake. I recommend keeping the cake in the refrigerator because it is extremely crumbly.

A good pesto, not too garlicky.

This is a great rogan Josh. I thought 7tbs of oil looked too much, used 3 tbs. The Sainsbury recipes have always been great from way back when Jocelyn Dimbleby was contributing In the 1970s.

A really lovely Indian vegetable dish which is great as an accompaniment to a good meat curry.

An excellent recipe for us sourdough bakers. I found I had to leave it longer than 8hrs to double in size, in a quite warm kitchen, in fact left it overnight. Freezes really well.

A lovely light and refreshing salad. I had sugar snap peas, so added for additional crunch plus a little finely chopped chilli. Didn’t see the point of wasting the flavour in the poaching liquid so I strained it after removing the chicken and cooked the noodles in that, adding the snap peas for the last 2 minutes. Be sure to VERY finely crush the Sichuan peppercorn, the husk can be quite unpalatable.

A lot of filling for 2 courgettes so stuffed a couple of peppers as well. A very pleasant light meal.

Followed the recipe and wow my machine has the ‘French’ setting so away I went to the shops. The French setting on my machine obviously cooks the dough, but hey, what a great sandwich loaf.

A tad involved but if you have time (or a lazy weekend) well worth the effort. I served with salad and a Swabian potato salad. Delicious.

A beautifully moist and delicious way to have the Sunday roast chicken. This recipe was recommended by my daughter (Anlaby Kitchen). Will become a regular once my tarragon has flourished (hard to grow in Queensland).

From his new book Comfort I understand. This was excellent, I cut back the palm sugar as I don’t like things too sweet. I didn’t use all the dried chillies either. The dish still had a good level of heat, which was great for us but suggest you adjust according to your own taste. If using chicken I would be inclined to use thighs and cook in the sauce for about 8-10 minutes before adding the asparagus stems. The cucumber and ginger relish is lovely. Can be used with so many other Thai dishes.

Banana bread is always a favourite in our house and this recipe is very easy and didn’t disappoint. I used melted butter not oil and added ½ cup of chopped walnuts. It’s easier to just break the walnuts up between your fingers.

A recipe from Gourmettraveller.com.au. That turned out really well. Gained 5* from us. I didn’t use quite so much sour cream in the finished sauce. Also my chilli seemed hot so be careful about how much chilli you use. All in all a lovely dish
