When red kidney beans are cooked together with fresh vegetables, tomato sauce and rice under tender and deliciously seasoned, the result is one of the most typical and well loved dishes in the Dominican Republic called Moro, or Moro de Habichuelas Rojas. This delicious vegan rice-and-beans recipe can be served on its own or with avocado and a fresh salad.
These lemon cookies have a bright lemony flavor and a super-soft and cakey (in a good way) texture, thanks to the addition of sour cream. They’re so good that I could eat an entire batch myself.
Make this vegan corned beef for your St Patrick’s Day feast, or any time! Serve it with cabbage and potatoes any time you want a good hearty main dish for dinner! (It also makes amazing vegan corned beef reuben sandwiches!) This meaty homemade seitan recipe – with beets for that bright pink color – is made in your slow cooker before being baked with a black pepper crust. The result is 100% worth the time that goes into it!
This simple pureed vegetable soup is a comfort I seek in the harried moments when I crave simplicity. It is one of the meals I ate repeatedly in Ireland. It is ever on the menu at both small, quick cafes or pubs, and nicer restaurants, always served with a slice or two of brown bread. It fills and warms you up, and can contain whatever sorts of vegetables you have on hand. This recipe makes a large batch, enough for 5-7 servings. meals.
Who doesn't love some mashed potatoes? This traditional recipe for Vegan Irish Colcannon is gluten-free, allergy-free, paleo, made with cabbage, but without the dairy! A cheap and easy staple Irish side dish that will quickly become a comforting family dinner staple!

Delicious, satisfying, and very easy to make. My kids will even eat spinach this way! We serve them with warmed spaghetti sauce to dip them in and a salad. Yum!
Olive Garden Marinara Sauce has all of the authentic, robust Italian flavors you could ever want in a great Italian pasta sauce. The great news is, now you don’t have to pay the high prices at the restaurant! My copycat marinara sauce recipe comes together in a snap, for a savory and rich tomato sauce that’s even more delicious than theirs!!
They’re rich, they’re decadent, they’re exactly the kind of dessert we want to bring to every picnic, potluck, or party. As easy to make as brownies, but with a little something special in the form of fresh-brewed coffee.
If you’ve ever wondered: “Can you cook pasta in an Instant Pot?”, the answer is YES!! Cooking pasta in the Instant Pot is the quickest and easiest way to perfectly cooked al dente pasta every time… AND this method works with your favorite regular pasta!
Don’t get us wrong, we love our homemade brownie recipe. When our lives get extra busy though, we appreciate how saving a few extra steps can motivate us to still get into the kitchen and bake. With a little assistance from Ghirardelli, these fabulous cheesecake-swirled brownies come together in around an hour, using fewer than 10 ingredients. They’re a semi-homemade approach you can return to whenever the cheesecake or brownie craving hits, minus all the effort!
This air fryer cauliflower is seasoned with a vibrant blend of savory spices and roasted to perfection in 15 minutes. The deep flavors are brought to life with just the right char and crispiness on the outside to bring out the sweetness which makes it impossible to put down. This recipe is a treat make and an excellent choice for an easy side-dish or snack.
This spicy smoky tomato sauce develops layers of flavor from roasting in the oven. It only takes 15 minutes to put together before sliding it into the oven, and can be used for many recipes.
Adding one chipotle pepper in adobo sauce adds a touch of smokiness and heat to the sauce, making it unique from any store-bought sauces. And a little balsamic vinegar increases that umami flavor we all crave.
This white bean chili offers a balanced flavor that feels more fitting for summer. It’s the perfect blend of spicy, sweet and smoky. If you like the idea of a simple one-pot stew but also want to keep things light, this white bean chili will be right up your alley.
My favorite thing about molletes is that they’re an open-faced blank canvas, as simple as they are flexible. This version has all the essentials, and makes for a hearty on-the-go breakfast, but can easily be dressed up to become the star of a fabulous brunch—add chorizo or bacon for a meatier variation, or summer squash blossoms or roasted poblanos for a lighter take.
Arepas are a quintessential part of Venezuelan cuisine. I grew up eating them daily in Caracas and I still make them at home on a weekly basis. This cornmeal cake that’s eaten like a sandwich is the daily “bread” in Venezuela (and Colombia too, although often found larger, flatter, and without the cornucopia of fillings).
It’s important to shop for precooked white cornmeal flour made specifically for arepas. Don’t confuse it for nixtamalized corn masa flour which is used to make tortillas and will yield an entirely different result. Look for the beloved yellow package of P.A.N. or for packages labeled masarepa. Homemade arepas are quick and easy to make, and once you get the hang of the shaping, which is not dissimilar to playing patty-cake by yourself, sideways, it becomes second nature. If your first arepa doesn’t look right, don’t be discouraged. Like with pancakes, it’s not uncommon for the first arepa or two to come out wrong while your pan is heating up.
The blooming onion is the signature dish of Outback Steakhouse and for good reason: It’s crispy, greasy, savory, perfectly seasoned, and impossible to stop eating. It’s also a challenge to make at home unless you have impeccable knife skills and endless patience. For the same great flavor and deep-fried satisfaction with far less effort, I love shrinking the onion down to a more manageable size for the home cook. You might say this version has no rules—it’s just right.
This Brazilian Potato Salad is a classic side dish you will certainly find at a Brazilian barbecue party. This cool and creamy recipe is perfect for feeding a crowd, and the best part is - you only need a few ingredients to make it. It's an easy potato dish that pairs with everything year-round, from summer barbecues to holiday parties.
With barbecue season around the corner, keeping a solid coleslaw recipe in your back pocket is crucial. Cool, creamy, and crunchy, it’s the perfect foil for smoky grilled meats, rich sides, and swelteringly hot days. We know it, we love it.
Tacos always bring party vibes, but when they’re baked until crisp and rimmed with crunchy cheesy frico, it’s an all-out fiesta. Featuring refried black beans stuffed inside a crunchy corn tortilla, this irresistible cross between a taco and a sheet-pan quesadilla will make any weeknight feel like a celebration. Oh—and did we mention you only need 5 ingredients to get the party started? Here are some tips on how to make them.
Ever wondered if you could use your pasta maker for things other than pasta? Well the answer is yes, you can.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have room for anymore gadgets in my kitchen. Buying a tortilla press seems like a waste of money and space, to me. But I REALLY wanted to make my own tortillas. I’ve heard they are SO much better than store bought ones.
The only thing better than soup with bread? Soup that not only has chunks of bread in it, but crunchy croutons on top as well. This (vegetarian!) Italian classic is about as comforting as it gets, packed with hearty greens, meaty beans, and plenty of rich olive oil and umami-packed Parmesan. A note on that cheese: If you've been throwing out your Parm rinds all these years, that stops right now. The rind is full of flavor, and makes a great addition to any broth-y, stewy situation.
This mushroom pasta recipe is all about the creamy sauce and just letting the ’shrooms do their big savory umami thing. For the most robust flavor, use a variety of mushrooms like feathery maitakes, meaty oyster mushrooms, woodsy shiitakes, and Crimini
