There are many versions but I believe this version is considered what many refer to as Minnesota chow mein, made famous by the iconic Nankin Cafe once located in Downtown Minneapolis. My father was a chef there in the late 60's and early 70's. His primary job was to cook hundreds of chow mein orders a day! This recipe was eventually made it to the Dragon House Menu. We operated the family restaurant from 1972-2017.
