This Epic Christmas Sugar Cookie Tree Is the Ultimate Edible Centerpiece

I am a retiree who loves to search out recipes. I am a mom to 3 amazing kids and grandma to 5 beautiful grandkids who are nearly all adults now, 3 in college and 2 in high school. I dont cook as much as I use to because I have mobility issues but I love finding recipies that I would love to try and some I do. I hope whoever is reading this enjoys the recipes I've collected.

This is adorable but very big, not more than maybe 6" tall using 3 cookies of each of 5 sizes plus the 1 star on top

2 sticks unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

4 cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup cornstarch

¾ teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

subheading: For the buttercream:

3 tsp vanilla

1 lb confectioner's sugar

1 cup unsalted butter room temperature

3 tbs heavy whipping cream

subheading: For the assembly:

½ cup confectioners sugar

1 tablespoon whole milk

4 inch sheet edible of gold leaf
