I substituted Splenda for the sugar and used a variety of sugar free jams, I also made some without adding jam. I served to family who were over for a visit and these danishes were amazing.

Next time I will make the cheese mixture and divide it into separate bowls for the jams. Slightly swirl jam into cheese mixture and put it into a piping bag. These danishes are so small that trying to swirl in the jam was difficult.

When I started piping the filling, I used my large star tip. You could barely see the star after baking but it was easier than trying to use a spoon.
Ingredients
  • 1 puff pastry sheet (usually come 2 per box in the frozen section)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons raspberry jam
  • 1 egg plus 1 tablespoon water
  • sparkling sugar (optional)
  • subheading: FOR THE ICING:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons water
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
