4 cups chicken broth or stock

2 T Better-than-Bouillon chicken flavor base

2 bay leaves

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

1 cup frozen peas

2 T cornstarch mixed with a little water

1 cup heavy cream

fresh-ground black pepper to taste
