- Since Easter is coming up and we always have hot cross buns at this time of the year, I baked some yummy vegan ones.
- Here’s the recipe:
- subheading: For the hot cross buns: :
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ cup of warm water
- ¾ cup warm almond milk @almond
- ⅓ cup sunflower oil
- a generous pinch of salt
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp lemon zest
- 3 ½ cups all purpose flour
- ½ to 1 cup raisins (depending on how you prefer your hot cross buns, I love mine full of raisins)
- “Egg” wash
- 2 tbsp almond milk
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- Icing
- ½ cup icing sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp almond milk
