Mexican-Style Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients
  • 16 garlic cloves, peeled and halved, plus 4 cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 lbs extra-large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1½ tsps grated lime zest from 2 limes
  • 3 tbsps fresh lime juice from 2 limes
  • 2 tbsps unsalted butter
  • 2 jalapeño chiles, seeded and minced
  • 2 tbsps finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves
