This is lovely. Next time I will increase the apple a little and mix it through. I felt 2 tsp of cinnamon to 1 apple seemed excessive. I used ¾ of a teaspoon and that was more than enough.
Double the recipe and it keeps well over 2 days.
Ingredients
  • subheading: For the apples:
  • 1 medium apple, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • Sea salt
  • subheading: For the oats:
  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk, or milk of your choice
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats, or gluten-free oats
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts, for topping
