Recipe:
Pat dry, and smother in coating.
Broil at 5 minutes per pound.
Turn off oven for two hours, don't peek!
Or as I yell at my wife..
"DONT OPEN THE OVEN!"
Dinner is ready, let rest to let juices flow.
The coating was butter, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary and garlic. It will burn somewhat in the broiling process but it gives the crust.
You can cook a little bit longer per pound, but that's on you since prime rib is expensive.
