I would love to find like minded (WFPBNO) eaters in the Twin Cities, MN metro area.
I’ve been Dairy free since 1992, when we discovered our infant son (and daughter and hubby) was allergic to dairy (and many other foods). He grew out of most of them, but not dairy.
My husband and I went both dairy and meat free in 2014, after reading T.Collin Campbell’s book. Since so many processed foods contain dairy, we were already almost WFPB but I learned about oil’s effect on the body and started learning how to cook without it in 2020, thereby becoming WFPBNO.
I am retired and have about 1500 sq feet of organic veggie garden and I am a beekeeper.
I am so grateful for all the generous cooks who have shared their recipes publicly. When I started this journey, the library had exactly 1 dairy free cookbook that had non-dairy coffee creamer (which contains dairy, by the way) in every recipe. It was a battle to lose every convenience food, work, and raise two little kids with food allergies when no one knew anything about it. We’ve come a long way since then and now I have so many wonderful recipes that we can eat and still follow our needs and choices. I’m not one who can make up or adapt recipes myself, so this app and all the WFPBNO bloggers are a happy miracle for me.
