Spelt and Kamut (Khorasan) are ancient wheats, much to be preferred to toxic modern wheat - a major culprit to good health. We need to know these things. Go to www.healthandinspirations.com We can use Coconut Sugar, Raw Honey, Maple Syrup, Panela or Rapadura instead of Sugar. They are also healthier.
This recipe is great to try out your creative cooking skills and it's tasty delicious. There's just one thing - you are sure to want more! But that's no problem when broccoli is on special and you have a little patience:)
In my recipe searches, I am finding some interesting Vegan recipe websites. I do feel they have something to offer us, to lighten up our diets and bring some interest to our tables. Some of us have far too many meals with beef etc and many of us get into the habit of having the same type of dishes - Western, Italian or Indian etc. I like to venture with food tastes and textures.
Guess what's in the middle of these? Bacon and Cheese! You can add Parsley to the potato if you like and you can Spray n Bake instead of deep frying these. This will prove healthier and your house will smell nicer!
I love recipes with a Quinoa Crust - it's much healthier than pastry and venturous too! The Crust could be used with a different filling - makes for flexible cooking.
Making these is much easier than making the triangle samosas and much healthier than deep fried pastries......hey? Plus you save on time. This girl has some really great recipes!
For Vegetarians or for a change, this would be similar to a Glazed Meatloaf and makes for light protein - something we all need sometimes. Some of us don't have enough protein in our diet while others have far too much. The thing to remember with protein intake is, the meal must have 'balanced' proteins. This recipe has that and it is packed with goodness!
I use Spelt flour or Coconut flour - they're better for you. Gluten Free would be alright too! Grass fed butter or Organic butter is the best choice to make being beneficial for our health!
