The great thing about slow cookers is that you can place all of your ingredients in and let them cook for several hours unattended. If you need to get your slow cooker meal on the table more quickly, however, there are a few conversions you can make. When a recipe calls for 7 hours on low, you can set it for 3 hours on high instead; when it calls for 8 hours on low, set it for 4 hours on high; when it calls for 9 hours on low, set it for 5 hours on high, and so on. Following these conversions, you can cook your chicken, broth and dressing mix for 2 hours on high before proceeding with the rest of the recipe.
How do you prevent the filling from separating?
Make sure the lemon curd is fully cooled before adding it to the whipped cream mixture. Additionally, the pie should be thoroughly chilled to ensure it has completely set before serving.
Can I use a different type of crust?
A crumb crust made from graham crackers, shortbread or vanilla wafer cookies is an excellent option for this pie. Just like using the classic pastry dough shell, the crumb crust should be baked before adding the filling.
Step 1: Grease with Shortening
Fold a sheet of paper towel and dip it into the shortening. You’ll need plenty, so go ahead and scoop out a big gob of the stuff. Then, as though washing the pan with a soapy sponge, spread the shortening around, making sure to coat all of its nooks and crannies.
Step 2: Dust with Flour
Next, take a spoonful of flour and lightly dust the greased pan. Next, pick up the pan, gently tapping and rotating it to create a thin, even coating of flour across the pan’s interior.
Step 3: Tap Away the Excess
Time to shake out any excess flour. Head over to the sink or wastebasket, turn the pan upside down and gently tap. If you see any missed spots after tipping the pan over, just go back over with a bit more shortening and some flour.
What if You Don’t Have Shortening?
A cooking spray just for baking, one that’s formulated with flour. It’s a good substitute.
Can I Cook These Wings in the Oven?
Give the wings 45 to 55 minutes at 400 F. Or use the convection setting to simulate an air fryer. The wings will take 30 to 40 minutes at 400 F convection.
How to cook wings from frozen—To air-fry frozen wings or drumettes, defrost them in the preheated 400 F air fryer for 10 minutes, then dry them with paper towels. Season the wings as directed, return them to the air fryer, and continue cooking them for 10 to 15 minutes until they are crisp and golden brown.
Buy natural pork chops that haven’t been injected or “naturally enhanced” with a saline solution. The chops should be an even 3/4 to 1 inch thick with plenty of fat on the edges. Bone in pork chops from the center or rib section will have more dark meat and marbling. Be sure to buy thick (3/4 to 1-inch) pork chops for the best results.
Preheat the air fryer with the basket inside—This will help prevent the breading from sticking.
No double dipping!—Measure out the mayonnaise and put it in a small bowl, do not brush the raw pork with the basting brush and dip it back into the mayonnaise jar!
You can tell the air-fryer salmon patties are done when they’re golden in color, crispy on the outside and hold their shape. Since the salmon is already cooked, you just want to make sure the eggs are cooked through when taking a temperature. Eggs are done cooking at 160°F.
Tilapia is a lean fish, so it goes from the freezer to the air fryer easier than a fattier fish would. Just make sure that it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F, no matter if you air fry frozen or thawed fillets.
