Mom's Chicken Cacciatore
Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Up to 4 lbs of chicken skinless pieces - breasts and thighs, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes - salt free
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms, quartered
  • salt and pepper to taste
