  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • 3 cups, plus ⅛ tsp. water, divided
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cumin seeds
  • ¾ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ⅛ teaspoon asafetida powder (optional)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves
