BBQ Sauce
Vegan version
Ingredients
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 can (250 grams) tomato & green chillies
  • ¼ tsp liquid smoke - mesquite
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ¼ cup apple juice
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup grape jam (jelly)
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Steps
  1. Blend tomato & chillies till smooth
  2. Add ketchup to pan (or slow cooker) & add blended tomato/chili & stir well
  3. Add rest of ingredients & stir well
  4. Place BBQ sauce on low simmer for minimum of an hour or until thickens
