YUM!! A definite crowd pleaser.

Servings: 24*

Servings: 24*
Ingredients
  • 24 Dates
  • 12 Slices Bacon (medium thick works best)
  • 24 Whole Almonds
Steps
  1. Soak 24 toothpicks (plus a couple extra) and preheat oven to 400. Cover a large baking sheet with foil and place a rack** on top of the foil lined pan.
  2. Make a small slice lengthwise down each date, removing the pit and replacing it with an almond.
  3. Cut a slice of bacon in half and wrap one half around a date and secure it with a toothpick and place it on the rack. Repeat for all of the dates, spacing them out on the rack.
  4. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until bacon is browned and a little crispy, but not hard. The thicker the bacon the longer it will take. Watch closely for the last 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Serve.
Notes
  • * Easy to change the Servings. One almond per date and one slice bacon for 2 dates.
  • ** Using a rack insures that the bacon gets cooked all over.
