Sticky Tamarind Tofu Steak
Ingredients

  • 1 block (300 to 400g) firm tofu, frozen & thawed for best results
  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp agave
  • 2 tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
  • ½ tbsp cornstarch mixed with 150ml water
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1cm ginger, grated
  • subheading: for the pickle:
  • 1 spring onion, sliced
  • ⅓ cucumber, sliced
  • 4 radishes, sliced
  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
