Ingredients
  • 1 box vegan pie shells **I used no name brand-tenderflake is not vegan
  • 4 small potatoes, peeled and diced about 2 ½ cups worth
  • 3 to 4 cups water to boil the potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt for the boiling potato water
  • 2 to 3 tbsp canola oil for the pan
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 to 2 cloves fresh garlic about 1 tbsp. worth
  • 1 cup T.V.P. Textured Vegetable Protein
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Mrs. Dash Steak Spice **there’s already a lot of salt here, so I went with the salt free steak spice
  • 1 cup boiling water to re-hydrate the T.V.P.
  • 2 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp vegan Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup boiled potato water reserved from boiling the potatoes-use for the gravy
  • 1 cube McCormick All Vegetable Beef Flavoured Bullion or any other veggie beef flavoured broth
  • subheading: To Thicken the gravy/sauce:
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp cold water
