Instant Pot Brown Basmati Rice

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Brown Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1T butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Steps
  1. Rinse rice well and drain.
  2. Add rice, broth, butter & salt to pot.
  3. Stir & make sure all the rice is covered by liquid.
  4. Put lid on pot & put the steam release in the Sealing position.
  5. Cook on Manual or Pressure Cook/High Pressure for 22 minutes.
  6. 10 minute Natural Pressure Release.
  7. Remove lid & gently mix rice to fluff.
Notes
  • * I used Trader Joe's Brown Basmati Rice
  • * I used homemade chicken broth. If using canned broth you can omit the salt.
  • * You can use any broth or just plain water.
  • * If rice is a little too wet when you open the pot just put the lid back on & let it sit in the residual heat in the pot for a few more minutes.
  • *This method also works for other types of brown rice.
  • * Made in a 6qt Instant Pot.
