  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ¼ to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 serrano pepper, minced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup water
