Chinese pepper steak

Ingredients
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 red pepper sliced
  • 1 green pepper sliced
  • 1 knob ginger julienned
  • 2 green onions cut in 2 in lengths
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • See notes for variations for vegetables
Steps
  1. subheading: Marinade steak with:
  2. 2 teaspoon cornstarch
  3. 2 tsp rice wine
  4. 2 tsp soy sauce
  5. MEAT
  6. Sear & sauté beef 80 to 90%
  7. Transfer to a bowl & set aside
  8. VEGETABLES
  9. In 1Tbs oil in pot saute ginger. Add vegetables. Stir fry till tender about 3 mins.
  10. Add garlic & sauté 30 sec
  11. Push vegetables aside & add sauce.
  12. SAUCE
  13. 2 tsp sugar
  14. 1 Tbs dark soy
  15. 1 Tbs light soy
  16. 1 Tbs oyster sauce
  17. 1 Tbs rice wine
  18. 2 tsp corn starch
  19. 2 Tbs water
  20. Add beef & juices back to saucepan with vegetables. And 1½ tsp black pepper.
  21. Toss in green onions heat 30 secs
  22. Serve with rice or fried noodles.

  • Vegetables substitute - Green beans, peapods, baby corn, vinegar, carrots.
