Cast Iron Steak

  1. Let steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. Preheat cast iron pan in oven at 500 degrees.
  3. Pat steak dry with paper towel.
  4. Pierce steak all over with fork and season generously with garlic powder, salt and Montreal Steak Seasoning.
  5. Once pan is pre-heated, remove it from oven and place on stove over med-high heat.
  6. Add just enough oil to lightly coat pan.
  7. Place steak in pan, and sear for about 30 seconds.
  8. Flip steak and sear for about 30 seconds.
  9. Place pan directly in the oven for about 2 minutes, then flip, then cook for about 2 more minutes.
  10. Remove from oven.
  11. Place steaks on plate and cover loosely with foli.
  12. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
