Steps
- Let steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Preheat cast iron pan in oven at 500 degrees.
- Pat steak dry with paper towel.
- Pierce steak all over with fork and season generously with garlic powder, salt and Montreal Steak Seasoning.
- Once pan is pre-heated, remove it from oven and place on stove over med-high heat.
- Add just enough oil to lightly coat pan.
- Place steak in pan, and sear for about 30 seconds.
- Flip steak and sear for about 30 seconds.
- Place pan directly in the oven for about 2 minutes, then flip, then cook for about 2 more minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Place steaks on plate and cover loosely with foli.
- Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
