The parmesan and basil make this the perfect summer salad

Ingredients
  • 1 pound string beans
  • 2 ripe tomatoes
  • ½ onion
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 2 tsp basil
  • 4 tablespoons parmesan
  • 4 tablespoon balsamic vinegar salad dressing
Steps
  1. Bring water in steamer to a boil.
  2. Turn off the burner but leave steamer in place.
  3. Add green beans to steamer basket for 8 minutes.  Green beans should be crisp.
  4. Meanwhile, put a paper towel on a dinner plate.
  5. Layer 4 slices of bacon and add another paper towel on top.
  6. Microwave for 5 minutes. Put aside to cool.
  7. Run green beans in the steamer basket under cold water to cool.
  8. Cut green beans into bite size pieces. Add to bowl.
  9. Add crumbled bacon.
  10. Chop tomatoes and onion; add to bowl.
  11. Add parmesan, garlic, salt, lemon pepper, and basil.
  12. Add dressing to salad and mix to combine.
  13. Refrigerate until chilled.
