Asian Chicken Strips Recipe with Sticky Garlic Sauce
Ingredients

  • 5 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 large shallot , minced (about 2 Tablespoons)
  • 1 Tablespoon (15ml) fish sauce (or soy sauce, but fish sauce tastes better! - for gluten-free use tamari sauce)
  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) rice vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoons (45ml) ketchup
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons (15 to 30ml) Sriracha or chili garlic sauce , or to taste
  • subheading: FOR THE CHICKEN STRIPS:
  • 2 pounds (910g) chicken tenders or chicken strips , patted dry
  • 2 eggs , about
  • 3 cups (710ml) panko or all-purpose flour you'll need less flour - it isn't as fluffy (for gluten free option use rice flour or corn starch)
  • oil for frying the chicken
