Grandma B's french toast

Servings: Makes 5 to 10 slices of french toast

Servings: Makes 5-10 slices of french toast
Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Bread of choice (texas toast is my favorite, but thinner bread with make more french toast)
Steps
  1. Heat pan to medium low
  2. Combine all ingredients except bread
  3. Place bread in custard mixture (how long you leave it in there will determine how eggy your french toast is)
  4. Flip to soak other side
  5. Place on pan and cook until golden brown
  6. Top with syrup or your desired toppings
Notes
  • I love to cook up the extra custard like scrambled eggs, it's definitely not everyone's style, but I think it is delicious with the little bit of syrup left on your plate.
