  • 2 tablespoons chinese sesame paste (or natural unsweetened peanut butter)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (or maple syrup)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons chinkiang vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • subheading: Vietnamese Chili Sauce (Nuoc Cham):
  • 1 1/1 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice (or rice vinegar)
  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 to 2 Thai bird’s eye chilis , thinly sliced
