Ingredients
  • 2 cups pinto beans, dry
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 3 cups water
  • One of the spice blends below
  •  
  • subheading: Spice mix #1:
  • 1½ tsp chili powder
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • ⅛ tsp dried oregano
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
  •  
  • subheading: Spice mix #2:
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp chipotle chili powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp dried oregano
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
Steps
  1. Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot.
  2. Set to high and cook for 60 minutes.
  3. Blend. It may look watery at first but it won't stay that way.
Notes
  • Black beans cook 50 minutes and wait 10.
