Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup almonds, slivered
- candy thermometer
Steps
- Combine butter & sugar.
- Heat slowly, stirring constantly (until sugar is dissolved)
- Cook to hard crack stage 310° (checking with candy thermometer)
- Stir occasionally to prevent scorching
- Pour into buttered cookie sheet (with lip?)
- When cold, melt chocolate over boiling water until melted.
- Spread half of chocolate over candy
- Spread with almonds
- When set, turn over and spread remaining chocolate & nuts
- When firm break into chunks.
