An Easy Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry Recipe You'Ll Make Again and Again
From a commenter: I make a stir fry sauce that includes rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground white pepper and crushed red pepper flakes.

Sliced jalapeno, chopped bell pepper, chopped onion and halved white mushroom also find their way into the skillet.
Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup chicken broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • ½ large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound broccoli, cut into florets (about 6 cups)
  • 1 medium carrot, cut into 1-inch matchsticks (about ½ cup)
  • ½ cup thinly sliced scallions (about 3 to 4), plus more for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • Cooked brown rice or steamed riced cauliflower (optional)
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
