Mammy’s Cranberry Relish
Mom’s recipe from the 50’s
Ingredients
  • 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (may need more)
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 or 2 big boxes of raspberry or cherry Jell-O
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 2 Navel oranges, diced
  • 4 ribs of celery, diced
  • ½ c grapes halved
  • 1 c chopped pecans
  • 1 or 2 big boxes of raspberry or cherry Jell-O
Steps
  1. Wash cranberries and check for bad ones, drain and place in processor
  2. Process into small pieces
  3. Place in large bowl and sprinkle with sugar, let sit until sugar is dissolved
  4. Add the remaining ingredients stir well
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 12 hours. Check after a couple of hours to see if it is thickening, if not add another box of jello.
Notes
  • You can add pears, or use walnuts
