Mango Habanero Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, minced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 medium cloves garlic, minced (about 2 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 ½ cups roughly chopped peeled fresh mango, about 2 medium magnos
  • 1 cup mango juice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons fresh juice from about 2 limes
  • 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped habanero chiles, seeded (about 2 chilis, see note)
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
