Scrumptious Appe have crispy outer layer and super soft interior. This instant version of traditional Appe recipe is made using semolina/rava and yogurt/curd/dahi and is ready in no time for a quick, tasty and healthy breakfast/snack or for kids tiffin. They are also perfect to serve as a starter for any party as these small, golden brown balls look super tempting and taste delicious too, not to mention that they are quick and easy to cook.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup - Semolina (Rava/Suji)
  • ½ tsp + ¾ tsp - Salt
  • ½ cup - Yogurt (Dahi/Curd)
  • ½ cup + 2 TBSP (or as needed) - Water
  • 1 TBSP + as needed - Oil
  • ½ tsp - Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 7 to 8 - Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta) - torn
  • 2 tsp - Ginger - finely chopped
  • 1½ tsp - Green Chilli - finely chopped
  • ½ cup - Onions - finely chopped
  • ¼ cup - Green Peppers (Capsicum) - finely chopped (optional)
  • ¼ cup - Carrot - grated (optional)
  • 2 TBSP - Cilantro (Coriander) - chopped
  • ½ tsp - Baking Soda
