Ingredients
- 4lb - 5lb chicken
- extra virgin olive oil
- thyme
- smoked paprika
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- extra fine salt (popcorn salt)
- freshly ground black pepper
Steps
- Preheat air fryer to 325°
- Rinse chicken well.
- Cut out spine of chicken with kitchen shears and press chicken to flatten.
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
- Rub olive oil over all surfaces of the chicken.
- Lightly sprinkle thyme, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and extra fine salt over all the surfaces on the breast side of the chicken.
- Place chicken breast side down in the air fryer pan.
- Lightly sprinkle thyme, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and extra fine salt over all the surfaces on the bottom of the chicken.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Flip chicken so that the breast side is up. Be sure that chicken is flattened in the pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until thermometer reads 165° for internal temperature.
Notes
- This recipe was tested using a Cuisinart TOA-65 air fryer.
