  • 5 Tbsp cotija cheese, crumbled
  • 4 Tbsp pickled onions *see notes

  • ½ cup sour cream *see notes
  • ½ cup cilantro
  • 1 jalapeño, seeds and ribs removed
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp fresh lime juice about 1 lime
  • 2 Tbsp water to thin out the sauce, use more if needed
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt
