Ingredients
  • 1⁄2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp peanuts, crushed
  • 5 g dried belacan (dried shrimp paste)
  • 2 dried chilli
  • 1 cup kecap manis
  • 3 tbsp petis udang (wet shrimp paste)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ fresh pineapple, cubed
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • 1 small green papaya
  • 1 green mango
  • 1 jicama
  • 1 lebanese cucumber
  • 1 youtiao
  • deep fried tofu puffs
  • fresh lime
Steps
  1. Toast sesame seeds and peanuts on a dry pan until fragrant, and set aside.
  2. Toast belacan and blend with dried chillies.
  3. In a frying pan, cook kecap manis, petis udang, water and sugar over medium heat. Add blended chilli paste. Cook until sauce thickens and set aside to cool.
  4. Meanwhile, cut fruits and vegetables into bite-size pieces.
  5. Mix sauce with the fruits and vegetables.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and peanuts, and a squeeze of lime juice.
