Ingredients
- 1⁄2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp peanuts, crushed
- 5 g dried belacan (dried shrimp paste)
- 2 dried chilli
- 1 cup kecap manis
- 3 tbsp petis udang (wet shrimp paste)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- ½ fresh pineapple, cubed
- 1 granny smith apple
- 1 small green papaya
- 1 green mango
- 1 jicama
- 1 lebanese cucumber
- 1 youtiao
- deep fried tofu puffs
- fresh lime
Steps
- Toast sesame seeds and peanuts on a dry pan until fragrant, and set aside.
- Toast belacan and blend with dried chillies.
- In a frying pan, cook kecap manis, petis udang, water and sugar over medium heat. Add blended chilli paste. Cook until sauce thickens and set aside to cool.
- Meanwhile, cut fruits and vegetables into bite-size pieces.
- Mix sauce with the fruits and vegetables.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and peanuts, and a squeeze of lime juice.
