  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  • Chow Mein
  • 8 cups water
  • 6 ounces dried chow mein noodles , or fresh (see notes)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 cup green cabbage, ¼" thick slices
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon minced ginger
  • ½ cup bean sprouts
  • ½ cup green onions, 1 ½" long pieces
