8 scoops good vanilla bean ice cream, such as Häagen-Dazs (2 pints)

4 tablespoons (¼ cup) Scotch whiskey, such as Jameson’s

4 tablespoons (¼ cup) Kahlua liqueur

8 tablespoons (½ cup) freshly brewed hot espresso (regular or decaf)

1 cup Sweetened Whipped Cream, recipe follows

Shaved semisweet chocolate, for garnish (see Cook's Note)

1 tablespoon sugar
