Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt
- 2 large bell peppers, thinly sliced (I used ⅔ of a TJ's bag of fire roasted bell peppers and onions - use whole bag next time).
- 1 pound loose raw Italian sausage
- 4½ cups chicken broth
- 1 pound shell pasta (used smaller "shells and cheese" size and was good.
- 4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
- ⅓ cup drained, chopped pickled peppers, such as cherry, banana or pepperoncini
