Ingredients
- subheading: Dough:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter flavor Crisco
- 3 eggs
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cloves
- ¼ tsp allspice
- 4 cups flour
- If dough seems dry add a little more Crisco or water till it sticks together.
- subheading: Filling:
- 1 ½ pkg chopped dates (12oz) ( use more dates if want more filling)
- ¼ cup finely chopped walnuts
- ½ cup sugar...if you are using chopped sugared dates cut back on sugar
- ½ cup water
