  • 2 Tblspn split mung dal | green gram dal
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 large cucumber, peeled and finely chopped

  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 small bunch green coriander (cilantro), finely chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 Tblspn lime or lemon juice

  • 2 tspn ghee or coconut oil
  • 1 tspn black mustard seeds
  • 1 tspn urad dal (black gram dal)
  • 1 tspn channa dal (Bengal gram dal)
  • 0.5 tspn asafoetida powder
  • 1 dried red chilli broken in two
  • a few fresh curry leaves
