Cheese Tteokgalbi (Minced, Seasoned, and Grilled Beef Ribs with Cheese) 치즈떡갈비
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef  from 2½ or 3 pounds short ribs
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • a few threads of shredded red pepper (silgochuj), optional
  • 1 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese ball, cut into small chunks
  • subheading: For marinade:
  • ½ Korean pear (or 1 ripe bosc or anjou pear) peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
  • ½ medium onion, cut into chunks
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons peeled ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice syrup (or 3 tablespoons sugar or honey)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
