Simplest Brisket

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, sliced thickly
  • 3 lb corned beef brisket
  • 1 bottle or can of beer
  • 1 tbsp pickling spice
  • 2 cups cut green beans, fresh or frozen
Steps
  1. Scatter sliced onions in bottom of crock-pot bowl. Lay brisket on bed of onions, fatty side up. Pour beer over brisket and onions. Top beef with pickling spice.
  2. Cook on low 8 hours.
  3. Remove fat, and move brisket to cutting board to rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, strain juices from crock into a small sauce pan, add green beans, and bring to a boil.
  5. Slice brisket across the grain, and serve with green beans.
