Crispy Fried Oyster Mushrooms
I soaked in salted water with vinegar and drained and dried. Dusted with self rising flour. Dipped in coconut milk with hot sauce and fish fry. Then again in self rising flour. Fry.
Ingredients
  • subheading: For the Buttermilk Marinade:
  • 1 cup plain oat milk
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup hot sauce
  • 16 oz oyster mushrooms cleaned and sliced
  • subheading: For the Flour Mixture:
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp organic brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • subheading: For Dredge Batter and Frying:
  • 1 cup plain oat milk
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • Neutral oil enough for adding 2 inches for deep frying in desired pot
