Granddad's Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients
  • TL; DR: Most of a block of Longhorn Colby cheese, about a pound and a half of small elbow macaroni, 1 egg, 1 scant cup of milk, 2 T butter, a palm full of salt, and a startling amount of black pepper. Grate the cheese, undercook the pasta and drain it -- return to pot. Add in most of the cheese and the butter and stir it around until you see cobwebs. Beat the egg into the milk, dump it over the top. Pour contents into a greased baking pan, sprinkle remaining cheese over the top. Cook at about 400 for 30 to 45 minutes depending on how much crispiness you like.
