  • 1 lb dried navy beans (about 2 cups), rinsed and soaked overnight
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • ⅓ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • 3 cups water (or enough to cover the beans)
