Lime Cookies with Icing

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 teaspoon lime juice

½ teaspoon lime zest

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

⅛ teaspoon baking soda

subheading: Glaze:

1.5 cups powdered/confectioners sugar

6 teaspoons lime juice, extra if needed

½ teaspoon lime zest, plus extra for garnishing - optional

½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
