Aunt Annette’s Hamburger Stew

Ingredients
  • 1 lb Hamburger
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cans of green beans or 1 home canned qt with liquid
  • 2 - 8oz cans tomato sauce
  • 5 cups water
  • 6 to 8 Potatoes with skins cut into chunks
  • 1 ts celery seed
  • ½ ts salt
  • ¼ ts pepper
  • Roast drippings (beef or pork)
  • 1 Tb soft beef bouillon
Steps
  1. Brown 1 lb Hamburger with one chopped onion
  2. Drain off excessive fat then add the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Simmer at least 20 minutes for flavors to mingle and long enough for potatoes to soften.
  4. Serves 10 to 12. Stores 6 days in fridge. Can be divided out and frozen for easy meals.
