Ingredients
  • ½ cup water, warm
  • 4 ½ tsp yeast
  • 3 ½ cups trim milk, warm
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • 11 cups flour
Steps
  1. Soak the yeast in the warm water for 5 mins
  2. Mix the milk, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add 4 cups of flour, yeast, and shortening.
  4. Mix until smooth.
  5. Add the rest of the flour.
  6. Knead 5 to 10 mins until no longer sticky.
  7. Form ball, place in large greased bowl, lightly grease top, cover with wax paper.
  8. Let rise in warm place until doubled. (60 to 90 mins)
  9. Repeat: knead it, bowl it, rise until doubled.
  10. Cut in quarters: roll out and ball each one, get those air bubbles out.
  11. Place in greased 9x5 loaf pans. Rise again until pan is filled in. (60 mins)
  12. Bake at 204°C for 45 mins.
  13. Cool on racks until room temp.
