MY Instant Pot Pinto Bean Soup w/ Ham, Taters & Carrots
Ingredients
  • 6 c H2O
  • 2 T BTB (Better Than Bullion) chicken flavor
  • 1 # dry pinto beans, rinsed, drained
  • Salt & pepper
  • ½ c chopped onions note *1
  • 15 oz can stewed tomatoes w/ juice (had Italian style).. Can use diced but didn't have any
  • 2 c each = Chunked potatoes, carrots, ham note*2
  • NOTE *3
Steps
  1. Add 2T BTB to 2 c hot tap H20 to dissolve. Add this and 4 c more H2O to liner. Give a little stir.
  2. Add S &P, onions and tomatoes.
  3. Set lid to sealing!
  4. Set for 45 min high pressure. (took 20 to pressure)
  5. NR for 10 min
  6. Add veggies & ham.
  7. Set for 8 min high pressure (took 9m to pressure)
  8. NR for 3 min, QR.
Notes
  • *1 I used leftover thawed, about ½ c. Fresh onions sauteed would have been better.
  • *2 Potatoes and carrots were prev cooked in pot but needed more time, hence why I am using for soup. Ham was ½" slice of deli Krakus in ½" dice.. Don't use that again for soup.
  • *3 Needs more seasoning, don't know what tho
